It is always great to hear the continuing successes from owners/breeders of Soprano stock. We are certainly proud of 'The Boy' He departs this week for a short term during this stud season at Manorvale Stud after a very busy time here at Royalwood. It is a great opportunity for Far South NSW and Vic breeders to take advantage of his convenient location. All enquiries to Jodi Allen.

We were very happy that our lovely Falconhurst World Class, owned by the Morelli family and piloted by Chelsea, put on a wonderful show to take out the Championship in the Large Pony at the recent Pacific Coast Grand National Qualifier.
More great results followed the next day when our gntlemangalloway 'Bramley Kingston' took the championship in the Show hunter section. All three ridden horses are nowqualified for the Grand National as 'Oakvale Music Box' had previously ticketed in with the Pony Championship at Bathurst Royal. Our lovely 'Bramley Kingston' will be offered for sale shortly at our loss and someobdy's gain. He is a wonderful horse that gives a great ride with temperament to match.
Well weaning has just completed with the last one just coming in. It is a noisey time for a few days, but all have settled well. We have a stunning filly 'Royalwood Symphony of Love' to make galloway and a classy large pony gelding 'Royalwood Music Maker' offered for sale. We are proud of our youngstock and would hope somebody is ready to take on some high potiential youngsters (see for sale).
April 2009
After a great summer holiday at the beach it was back into it way too soon, especially with the intense heat experienced through Jan/Feb. Canberra Royal was my first show for the year exhibiting in the Riding Pony section with 'Temptress of Royalwood' who placed 2nd in a very strong yearling class, 'Oakvale Chorus Girl' 2nd in the 2yo/3yo class and 'Oakvale Music Box' also 2nd in the mare 13.2 - 14.2hh. Music Box later placed in the ridden Riding Pony and in the line up of the Open Pony 13.2-14hh, while Falconhurst World Class placed in the childs after carrying her little jockey, Chelsea Morelli through a beautiful show.
It was only to be home a few days and then off to Bathurst Royal were all the ponies performed extremely well. 'Falconhurst World Class' was the winner of the Open 13- 13.2hh, Childs Pony and the Champion Ridden Riding Pony. 'Oakvale Music Box' was awarded the Champion Open Pony and our sweet little yearling, 'Temptress of Royalwood' was Champion Led Youngstock Riding Pony.
With a week to recover, it was our EFA Horse of the Year Show next. To our great delight, along with owner Anne Dawn, the quality 'Oakvale Music Box' was sashed Large Pony of the Year. We were thrilled with her performance and stablemate 'Falconhurst World Class made top ten giving a lovely show as well.
Our resident sire ' Royalwood Boy Soprano' had something to celebrate also as the Champion Newcomer Pony - Robbanie Mister Squiggles, Champion Intermediate Pony - Tallowood Picture Perfect and Open POTY - Oakvale Music Box were all sired by him, a trifecta in the Pony Section of the EFA HOTY. Congratulations to owners Mel Skinner and Di Godfrey, Jade Buchert, and Anne Dawn.
Our two lovely yearlings, Temptress of Royalwood and Royalwood Centre Stage our out for a lovely well earnt spell until spring while 3yo Oakvale Chorus Girl goes off to the breaker. After a few agi's coming up, Grand National and Sydney Royal, Music Box and World Class can enjoy a nice break over the winter not to mention myself and then its time for weaning.

Melbourne Summer Royal Success for 'Soprano' Stock
Congratulations to all owners/handlers for the following great results that have come to hand from the recent Summer Royal.
Lucinda Fraser's quality 'Royalwood Concerto' was winner of the Arabian Riding Pony 3 yr old and then went on to claim Reserve. Champion Arabian Riding Pony and also Reserve . Champion Youngstock Breeding Stock 14 - 15hh. Meanwhile Lucinda's elegant little filly 'Royalwood Minuet', shown by Robert Cockram, was winner of her Arabian Riding Pony Filly Class and also Riding Pony Filly 2 yr old and went on to be sashed Reserve Champion Riding Pony Filly.
The lovely 'Daisy Patch Choir Boy' for Doyle and Randall had a wonderful show, being awarded the Champion Riding Pony Gelding and also the Champion Youngstock Breeding Stock 14 - 15hh.
Alan Dillinghams devine filly ' Highcroft Minuet' was 2nd in a very strong 2 yr old filly class in the Riding Ponies.
A great effort and pleasing results, well done to you all.
Back at Royalwood ...
All 2008 Royalwood foals arrived safely and for the first time, on time! From all accounts we also reported some very pleased mare owners with their Boy Soprano foals.
First to appear at home was the handsome black/brown colt 'Squirrel' out of the lovely Oakvale Songster by Royalwood Boy Soprano. This sweet little fellow will mature large pony and will be a corker under saddle.
Harrington Park Lotus was next to foal a devine dark filly, christened Zoe', sired by R Boy Soprano, to mature galloway. She is a beautiful scopey filly that oozes quality.
Again our lovely thoroughbred mare 'Knowing' had an exquisite colt, full brother to R Concerto and R Centre Stage. He is certainly going to turn heads and will mature large galloway.
Last and certainly not least, Merry Music blessed us with a gorgeous tiny little filly 'Squirt' by Rosedale Lords, a young miss with a huge opinion of herself.
We could not be happier with all the foals, the only disappointment being our ageing mare 'Knowing' did not have a filly. Fingers crossed for next season.
Since our last update we have had great success at a handful of shows with the yearling 'Royalwood Centre Stage'. Troy will mature 15hh and we believe him to be quite special. 'Oakvale Chorus Girl', a full sister to 'Oakvale Music Box' had her first outing for the season to the NSW Youngstock Show winning her filly class and going on to be sashed Reserve. Champion Filly. After a few more shows in-hand we are looking forward to backing her and hopefully producing her under saddle late next season.
Breeding season has been a busy but good time for us and our family are all looking anxiously forward to our annual summer holiday on the beautiful beaches of the south coast. No sooner do I return from holidays than I'm off to NZ with two other Aussie's to judge the NZ Grand National Horse Show in Christchurch. Then follows a busy period of shows between February and April with Canberra and Bathurst Royals, Grand National and EFA H.O.T.Y before the process of weaning begins.
Good luck to all at the up coming shows, particularly those exhibiting Royalwood stock and those sire by Royalwood Boy Soprano, we hope to see you there.
